    Bleach Ep87

After the failed attempt to seal away Baura and the Bountou, Rangiku and Chad, with Nova on his back, try to make a run for it. This is useless because of Baura's teleporting ability. Rangiku considers using shunpo to escape, but she knows that attempting to take Chad and Nova with her would greatly slow her down, meaning she wouldn't be able to get away. Chad realises what she is thinking and tells her to save herself. Rangiku dismisses the idea immediately. Seeing no other way out, Rangiku uses her shunpo to put some distance between them and the Bountou, but Baura appears in front of them and lunges. Just as it seems that the three are about to be swallowed, Nova finds the strength to teleport them to a reasonably safe location, even in his crippled state.

Safe for now, Chad sets Nova down and Rangiku begins to rethink their strategy. Chad suggests they render the Bountou's doll useless, then catch it to free Ururu. Rangiku reminds him of the difference in strength between them and the enemy. It is difficult enough for them to evade Baura when its attacking from a different dimension, let alone making a counter-attack. Chad suggests they have someone become the decoy again and attack Baura on its underside, where it's probably most vulnerable. Rangiku says that whatever they do, they should move out of the open first, as it is dangerous. Chad proposes that they take Nova out of his gigai, surprising Rangiku, as she hadn't known he was a modified soul. Chad asks Rangiku to remove his soul capsule as she's a shinigami, but Nova claims that he is fine, since as long as his soul capsule is safe, he can't die.

As Nova and Chad quarrel about this, Rangiku formulates a plan that she believes has a chance of success. If Rangiku combines her kidou with Nova's ability to sense Bountou, they may be able to locate Baura's whereabouts. Nova agrees to this and allows his soul capsule to be extracted. Rangiku places it inside the stuffed animal. Nova grabs onto Rangiku's arm and begins synchronising their power. Rangiku recites an incantation to perform the Binding Art 58: Catching the Footprints, Following the Sparrow. A jet of pink light shoots into the sky, originating from the spell circle that Rangiku had drawn. At first she cannot locate the Bountou and wonders if its reiatsu is different. However, shortly after, she discovers that Baura is approaching from above. Baura appears from the side of a sky scraper and begins to plunge down. The Bountou thinks that he will not be expected from above, and is surprised to see Chad in a confident stance, looking straight at him. Chad collects his reiatsu and leaps into the air, smashing the Doll's underside. He continues to pound it until it spits out Ururu and the other things it had swallowed. Ururu lands safely on a branch, saying "I'm back," before fainting and embedding her head in the leaves of the branch. Realising his defeat, the old Bountou decides to retreat.

Rangiku suspects Chad had been holding back when he attacked, as he could've easily destroyed the Bountou. He says that if he had went all out, he wouldn't have been able to save Ururu. Rangiku proceeds to congratulate him, but he promptly faints and falls on his face.

In Soul Society, 12th division captain Kurotsuchi Mayuri has discovered his database of information regarding the Bountou. He discovers a secret and wishes he had a Bountou specimen to study. He doesn't have enough time to go himself, nor persuade the shinigamis in the real world to do it for him. As he is thinking about this, he comes across the reason as to why the Bountou had needed a Quincy; someone who can constrain spirit particles and disperse them, forcefully converting that power into strength. He sends Nemu to take Research Project 9141 to the real world and locate the last Quincy left: Ishida Uryu.

Meanwhile, Madaramae Ikkaku (3rd seat of the 11th division) is complaining about having to guard the entrance gate. His fellow 11th division comrades remind him that it was Captain Zaraki's order. As Madaramae turns around to argue, a red light flashes past him and destroys a section of the gate. For a while the intruder stays hidden in the curtain of smoke, then leaps onto the top of a building and begins running on the rooftops. Madaramae follows and it seems the enemy has concealed both his reiastu and physical form. The other squads are alerted and the captains begin assembling. Madaramae sees a tile break off in front of him and releases his Zanpakutou, but is quickly struck back down to the ground. He tries to retaliate but cannot see the attacker as he gets away.

Elsewhere, Kuchiki Byakuya is given a letter from the 1st division captain, Yamamoto. Byakuya scans through it and comments on 'it' being such a pity.

Zaraki comes, triggering Madaramae immediate apology, but the captain says he doesn't care about the intruder, as if he was strong, he wouldn't need to hide himself.

In some remote location, Ishida is practicing resurrecting his Quincy powers. He has a flashback of his master teaching him how to shoot the Quincy arrows. He finds the strength to generate the bow and arrow, but it quickly dissipates and he drops down to his knees.

The episode is concluded with a new ED!
